‘Virtual Bridges’ Installation and Workshops 2006

These public and participatory artworks were envisioned by Leaside Regeneration and commissioned to raise awareness and highlight the importance of actual bridges that will be built, joining the boroughs of Newham and Tower Hamlets, forming an important part of the 2012 Olympic Legacy for local people.
We worked with schools and youth groups in both boroughs to make a series of ‘prayer flags’ representing the hopes and dreams of the community for the forthcoming regeneration. As part of the final celebration, a temporary art installation was also created, composed of a series of glowing ‘stepping stones’ crossing the River Lea at Three Mills Island.
